2016-17 Team Information

Our information and schedule for the 2016-17 season is now available!
Important changes to note:

  • The fundraising fee is required, but gives you an opportunity to fund raise the cost of your typical fees.  You can always write a check for fundraising instead of participating.
  • We have at least two travel meets on the schedule.  One in March for the Senior group, and one in April for our age groupers (in Clearwater, FL with time standards).  Those that attend will have the opportunity to put 50% of monies raised over their minimum in a  travel account to help with the cost of attending those meets.
  • The Scarlet group fee is for this WINTER, we expect spring and summer training to run at about $500-600.
  • When you add in the extras we charged last year (fundraising, MC Fitness surcharge) the increase in fees is between 2-5%
  • We will only collect registration and meet fees at active.com.  This saves us about 3% on processing.  You can either set up monthly electronic installment payments with me or pay by check.  These payments are outlined on the fee info page of the packet.
  • The booster club has fantastic ideas for helping you raise that fundraising fee.  We want to make it as painless as possible.
  • The website will be updated ASAP.  It is still under construction!
  • Thanks to some creativity from MC we did not have to do anything extremely weird with the schedule.  Everyone fits into the space we have.
  • The registration fee is good for one year.
Action items needed ASAP:
  1. Register online this week and save $10!
Based on tryouts the Scarlet group is FULL - DO NOT WAIT TO REGISTER!
  2. Send us a brief testimonial to use on our website, or review Buckeye on our Facebook page.
  3. Tell your friends to join.  We have a huge need for high school swimmers and will make it as  easy as we can (schedules) for them to be a part of Buckeye.  We would also like to see more fall sport kids join our Columbus North Silver program!

Looking forward to a terrific 2016-17 season!!

Extra T-Shirts

The Pollock Family has donated about 60 t-shirts sporting the new team logo to our Booster Club. The shirts come in a variety of colors and sizes. Each family will have their chance to pick ONE shirt on Monday or Tuesday at practice. On Wednesday, any shirts remaining will be available to anyone. A donation to the booster club for your shirt is optional. The kids are now receiving their team t-shirts that were made exclusively for kids and coaches. Kast-A-Way has not yet printed our red t-shirts, if you would like to order one I suggest you call today. These shirts are being printed on a light weight t-shirt from Sport Tek.

Coach of the Year

Dear Coach, Hope this email finds you well and enjoying the summer. We are writing today on behalf of the upcoming feature film COACH OF THE YEAR: an independent, kid-friendly sports comedy feature film based on the inspiring true story of a rag tag swim team that tries to win a state championship…without a pool to practice in. Director Dave Stott, who has coached swimming for twenty years, hopes that with this film, we will entertain and inspire kids all over the country to learn to swim. Another goal of this film is to raise awareness about drowning as the leading cause of accidental deaths and to help kids all over the country learn to swim safely. The underdog story has been told before, but not for our sport. This is a movie for swimmers (and would-be swimmers), made by people who know the sport intimately and love it passionately, and we’d love for you to be involved. We wanted to ask you and your team to help spread the word about COACH OF THE YEAR, and get you & you...
