Website Updates Continue

We are continuing to add content to the new website.  This week we have updated the practice schedule into our google calendars & have started to build the meet information blocks on our meet schedule page.  Please continue to let us know if there is a part of the website that isn't working that you would like to have functional!  We are also still looking for parents and swimmers to send us testimonials or reviews to include on our website.  Short and sweet is fine, or long and detailed.  We'll take anything that you feel comfortable sharing!

Welcome New Swimmers!

We are very excited to welcome a number of new swimmers to the team.  Parents please be sure to introduce yourselves to our newcomers at our first practices in September!

Scarlet and Silver MC groups are nearly full

We currently have three spots remaining in Scarlet and eight in the Silver MC Fitness group,  We anticipate both groups filling soon and going to a waitlist.  If you intend to register, please do not wait any longer.  If you have questions, please ask!

Practice Equipment & Team Gear

All swimmers should take a moment to check the state of their gear bag.  The following items are needed in your bag at practice:

Kickboard
Fins
Pullbuoy (if under 110 pounds, purchase a junior pullbuoy)
Mesh Bag to carry it in

Seniors and Juniors also need a snorkel and sculling paddles

DO NOT BUY at local retailers.  Little known fact the Speedo product sold at retailers like Target and Dicks is recreation quality and not really suitable for swim team.
All items can be purchased here: http://www.swimoutlet.com/bkys  - click on 'Practice Gear'

SwimOutlet has a distribution center in West Chester.  Most items arrive in two days with regular ground shipping.

If you decide to buy team apparel while visiting swimoutlet.com, please make sure you purchase all team items in team colors.  The backpack must be silver/gray, team suit is red,  the team sweats are in red/black, etc.  No pink, neon green or other color team gear can have our logo or be utilized at swim meets.

The most popular goggles on the market are Speedo Vanquishers.  Mirrored or metallic goggles are not necessary for indoor swimming.

Team Suit Available

This year we do not plan to change our team suit.  This is a little risky as Speedo has not officially renewed it's style.  However, there are still suits available at swimoutlet.com/bkys in our team portal.  We also have a handful in stock that you can purchase right away.  Please take a moment to check the fit and condition of your current team suit.  Our goal is to make it to February in what you have.

Junior Group Schedule Clarification

The schedule for Juniors includes an optional practice on Mondays. This is important for attendance calculations. It is recommended that Juniors attend the five practices offered Tuesdays Wednesdays,  Thursdays, Saturdays & Sundays.

2016-17 Team Information

Our information and schedule for the 2016-17 season is now available!
Important changes to note:

  • The fundraising fee is required, but gives you an opportunity to fund raise the cost of your typical fees.  You can always write a check for fundraising instead of participating.
  • We have at least two travel meets on the schedule.  One in March for the Senior group, and one in April for our age groupers (in Clearwater, FL with time standards).  Those that attend will have the opportunity to put 50% of monies raised over their minimum in a  travel account to help with the cost of attending those meets.
  • The Scarlet group fee is for this WINTER, we expect spring and summer training to run at about $500-600.
  • When you add in the extras we charged last year (fundraising, MC Fitness surcharge) the increase in fees is between 2-5%
  • We will only collect registration and meet fees at active.com.  This saves us about 3% on processing.  You can either set up monthly electronic installment payments with me or pay by check.  These payments are outlined on the fee info page of the packet.
  • The booster club has fantastic ideas for helping you raise that fundraising fee.  We want to make it as painless as possible.
  • The website will be updated ASAP.  It is still under construction!
  • Thanks to some creativity from MC we did not have to do anything extremely weird with the schedule.  Everyone fits into the space we have.
  • The registration fee is good for one year.
Action items needed ASAP:
  1. Register online this week and save $10!
Based on tryouts the Scarlet group is FULL - DO NOT WAIT TO REGISTER!
  2. Send us a brief testimonial to use on our website, or review Buckeye on our Facebook page.
  3. Tell your friends to join.  We have a huge need for high school swimmers and will make it as  easy as we can (schedules) for them to be a part of Buckeye.  We would also like to see more fall sport kids join our Columbus North Silver program!

Looking forward to a terrific 2016-17 season!!

Hello Buckeye Families!  We will hold a meeting on Thursday, July 21 at 6:30 PM at MC Fitness.  This meeting will be held during the try out session for the Silver/Scarlet Group for the 2016-17 Fall/Winter Season.  We have several important pieces of information to cover during this meeting,  the first being formation of the Buckeye Booster Board Members.  If you are interested in holding a Board position (President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and 2 at large members) and/or being a co-chair of a committee (we are looking at the following committees: social, fundraising, awards, apparel) please email me at lesallows@columbus.rr.com with your intent so we will have an idea of who is interested before the meeting. We also need to get together a hiring committee to "hire" our coach for Silver/Scarlet group.  Look Forward to seeing everyone at the meeting.

Team News June 20-July 4

Weather Plan and Practice
Normally we would find a nice dry space to do dry land, talk goal setting or read our team book. However, tonight’s storm may be particularly bad and may carry into the morning.  If the storms are rough, we will text everyone 45 minutes before practice start time to change or cancel practice. Please be sure your cell phone number is in your active.com account.  We will follow the text with a post to Facebook and Twitter (@BuckeyeSwimming).

Please note that MC Fitness also close the pool when lightning is clearly present in the area (not thunder). While the pool is grounded there is a lot of glass surrounding the area.  In this case we would do dryland or read the Scarlet group book, Urban Meyer’s Above the Liberty.

ACTIVE ACCOUNT INFORMATION
We need everyone to log into their active portal and check that their billing is up to date and paid in full.  Several families do not have working payment information and have not paid their fees since registration.  While in there please update email addresses for your kids and add a cell phone for you that we can text to.

FRST Summer Classic Updates
Meet Fees due by check
Due to a glitch in the fee collecting system, we are collecting fees by check for this meet. Please bring checks payable to Buckeye Swim Club to the meet or tomorrow mornings practice.  You can look up your fee invoice in your active.com portal.

Warm-up times
Friday mile 10:45 am
Friday 12-under session 1:00
Saturday 13-over session 10:00
Saturday 12-under session 2:30
Sunday 13-over session 7:00
Sunday 12-under session Noon

Team Shirts & Goals
Friday – Red (Goal Digger), Saturday – Gray (Swimions), Sunday – Black
I have a few extras of each shirt, text by 2:00 Thursday if you are interested ($15 each shirt)

We are very excited about this meet and the training the kids have put in this past year, including some very focused practices these last few weeks. The coaching staff has the following goals for the team this week-end:
·         Support our teammates.  Parents sit together and support all of our swimmers. Swimmers cheer your teammates on and congratulate good swims and extra efforts.
·         Average 1 second drop per 100 or 75% best times
·         Clean up our team areas without help from adults!
·         Show respect and sportsmanship to our fellow competitors – let’s represent Ohio and Buckeye proudly.
·         Show good ‘above the line’ character throughout the week-end.  Remember positive & supportive words, focused and purposeful effort from start to finish!

Entering the facility Saturday
Entry to the School Campus on Saturday AM only:
Access to Franklin Community HS campus limited until 9:30am
Due to a youth sprint triathlon, which was the reason for our “adapted Saturday meet schedule,” entry to campus will likely be shut down to around 9:30am.  With warm-up being at 10am, this doesn’t harm our start time, but access to entry and parking could be rather limited until 9:30-9:45am.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE CHANGES
Thursday, June 23 Scarlet (5:45-7:30) Silver and age group (5:45-7:15) at MC Fitness.  No scarlet dryland at 5 beforehand, no dryland after.
Tuesday, June 28 Senior and Junior will practice at the sports club at 3:15-4:45
Thursday, June 30 Senior and Junior will train at MC Fitness 6-8 pm
Monday, July 4 am only for senior/ Junior (Lew will communicate time)

TEAM DINNER
Saturday, June 25
We are planning to have a team potluck dinner Saturday in Franklin.  Details will be given at the meet once we figure out what’s what in Indy.

PAY ON DECK
Just a friendly reminder that free stroke clinics are earned through attendance in the Scarlet and Silver groups.  Those that do not earn a free clinic should pay $10 at the door.  Age group participants have one included clinic a week that was built into their summer fee.

BEST OF LUCK TO RICHARD MAZUR
Richard and Coach Lew head to Charlotte on Wednesday, June 29 for the US Paralympic Trials June 30-July 2.  Go Richard!

Schedule Update

We are still working on a  schedule update for you.  As you know we are trying to move much of our programming out of the Columbus North Sports Club.  We are working on many, many different options and making numerous phone calls and emails daily to put together the best schedule in the best environment that we can for our team.  Please continue to email me with any questions or concerns you may have- it si so helpful when you keep those lines of communication open with us.  I want to thank the parents that are working hard with me to help make some of these alternatives a possibility.  The help is much appreciated!

Thanks also to those that have shown their support by registering early for next season. It is so much easier to put together a schedule when we know who we are scheduling for! Remember that registration is $70 & refundable this year.  If you have not already done so, please register here: https://buckeyeswimclub.swimtopia.com/register/647/main

We do anticipate a very similar schedule to last winter & spring, it is just the location that is giving us trouble at the moment.  The only other really scheduling issue we are dealing with right now, is  that it may be too cold (in August!) to swim outdoors for our stroke clinic.  Let's hope for warmer weather in the coming weeks!

Faster than a National Record Holder?

4 of our swimmers this summer combined to be a team record that is faster than a National Record Holder and Olympian!

Congratulations to all of our swimmers that broke team records this summer.  We had a another season of fast swimming and great team efforts.  i wanted to take a moment to share with you who broke team records and the accomplishments of some of those former record holders.

Senior Boys 200 & 800 Free Relay
Tom Dawson, Keanan Fomich, Cam Hackett & Andrew Davis combined to break our boys relay records.  The previous 200 free record include an OSU college swimmer on the crew of 4!  Brian Dillard, one of the prior record holding relay members went on to swim for Harvard & Steve Plogsted went on to swim for OSU.

10 & Under Boys 200 Medley Relay
Chase Bateman, Graham Weidenhamer, Thaine Nederveld and Chase Swearingen combined to best the prior relay of Masyuki Kishida, Sean Maloney, Matt Finney & Kyle Maloney.  Kyle Maloney went on to be named swimmer of the meet as a 10 year old at the Ohio JO Champs.  Masayuki Kishida was a 2008 Olympian & Japan National Record Holder in the 100 fly!

Macey Swearingen
Macey had a huge summer, obliterating the 50,100 & 200 free, 50 &100 back, 50 fly and 200 IM records. She has broken records previously held by our own Chelsea Bailey (Kentucky), Kyley Eisenman (who went on to swim for Hawaii) and Bunny Boyd (Patty's youngest).

Graham Weidenhamer
Graham crushed the 50 & 100 breast records.  Both records were previously held by Andrew Kruppa and were 18 years old!

Chase Swearingen
Chase shattered the 100 free, 50 & 100 back and 100 breast records this year.  Congrats Chase!

Tom Dawson
Tom broke the men's 50 breast team record during the first 50 of his 100 breast!!

Congratulations again to our group of young achievers.  Many of these records were over 10 years old!!

Officials Clinic

Hi Buckeyes - please consider giving back to swimming by becoming an official.  Anyone can do it, and it can be very rewarding.  Since Ohio Swimming is an all volunteer organization, we are always looking for new officials.

Central Commission Officials and Teams:
The date for the Central Commission Ohio Swimming Inc. Fall Officials Clinic is set for Sunday SEPTEMBER 29, 2012 at the Worthington Northwest Library, Hard Road, Worthington, from 1 to 4 PM. All officials are required to attend at least one clinic per year and may elect to attend a clinic in another commission (Cincinnati, Dayton or Toledo). PLEASE do share this information with your teams, we will be holding a training session for any new people who wish to become apprentices.
If you plan to attend bring either $6.00 in cash or a check made out to Ohio Swimming Inc. in the amount of $6.00 for your clinic fee.

Recruitment

I am starting to hear from some of your swim friends - thank you! Please remember to send your friends that are not currently on a USA swim club our way.

Registration FAQ
Q: Will Buckeye offer a Spring & Summer program in 2014?
A: Yes!  It will be very similar to this years spring & summer program. We just felt that there were too many very good reasons to have a winter only option this year at all levels.  This is why your information is only for this Winter.

Q: When will the schedule be available?
A:  The August & early September will be released tomorrow (July 23).  We are waiting to hear back from OWU and CNY regarding time indoors.  This is needed to set up the remainder of our school year schedule. We expect to hear something next week.

Texting Mania

In speaking with the coaches, we have all noticed an increase in casual texts to us from parents.  And often times, the parents actually want to speak about something important.  Over the course of the Regional week-end our entire staff was inundated with texts starting at 4:55 am and going as late as 11 pm.  While texting is a very convenient way to ask a quick question or to let us know that you're running late, please think before sending that text. If it takes more than 160 characters to convey what you wish, please email or call.  If it is an important subject to you, please email or call. If we don't have a gaggle of kids around us before or after practice, you are also welcome to speak to us there.  If we do have a gaggle of kids, it may be hard for us to appropriately respond to you, but by all means try (we do like speaking with you)!

Thanks,
Your Buckeye Coaching Staff

2013-2014 Registration

Important!  Lower fees & lower commitment  - please read!
Registration for Fall & Winter is now open.  You can get information and register at our new website:
https://buckeyeswimclub.swimtopia.com/join

We have several important changes for the year:

  • Your commitment is through March of 2014 rather than through the entire year.
  • Buckeye, Silver & Scarlet swimmers will start the season with a 6 week stroke clinic.
  • We have added a High School Training Group.
  • We will add an optional Distance training group that will meet approximately once a week.
  • We will add optional morning practices for those early birds out there.
  • If we get enough interest, we will add a morning Masters group.
Unfortunately, we do not have a training schedule yet.  We hope to add some of that late next week.  We are attempting to pick up weekday practice time at the North YMCA, OWU and one secret location (it's a long shot anyway).  If anyone has a contact at the Josephenum - please pass it along, we would also like to speak with them about renting their indoor pool for our younger swimmers.

The Fall/Winter fees reflect what we believe it would cost for us to continue to run a 115 member team. Adding kids to our roster helps us keep the fees low.  Please help us recruit!  Also, the fees are set up anticipating much higher pool rent costs (OWU is twice as expensive as the sports club).

New pool - we are awaiting word from the Boy Scout council regarding building at Camp Lazarus.  If that falls through we will proceed with the purchase of the land on Peachblow Rd.  If anyone knows what Ohio Health is adding to their Delaware Campus next, I would love to know (at one point there was to be a 25 yard pool).

Training Schedule
Please check back at the new website regularly.  As we fill in the schedule and locations we will post there.

2013-2014 Schedule

We are working on the 2013-14 schedule and should have some general information out within two weeks. We are in rough draft stage but believe many of you will be very pleased by what we have to offer. We have some challenges that we are hoping to address to help make the program more appealing to a wider variety of swimmer.  Here are some of the things you have asked us to address:

  • Offering or expanding on our seasonal programs to better accommodate multi sport swimmers
  • Adding a loyalty program.
  • Offering expanded practice options (distance group, turn group, new swimmer group, etc.)
  • Finding more pool space.
Regarding pool space - we have received the OK from the Boy Scouts legal counsel to lease and build at Camp Lazarus.  We are currently waiting on an OK from their board and need to decide who is responsible for what financially in this arrangement.  We have heard nothing new from The Lakes.

In the meantime, we need everyone to help recruit new swimmers to the team.  We'd like to add 40 swimmers this year! Bring your friends int o try practices after summer league champs end. Please also have your friends call or email for more information.

Seniors/Scarlet 2: No afternoon/evening practice Weds & Thursday.  7-9 am this Thursday at Northland.

Meets this Week-end

Please check the website for any updates regarding warm-up schedules this week-end. We will post updated information to the meet info page once said info is received.

Northland Pool

The pump is up and running at Northland Pool.  However, we encountered a new problem when we arrived this morning.  Upon arrival it was apparent that there was a pH imbalance at the pool.  The staff at Northland is working hard to correct the imbalance quickly, and we hope to be OK to swim there tomorrow morning.  If not, we will send a Ringya text by 7 am and will once again move practice to Columbus North.

New Website Coming Soon

We have signed with Swimtopia to provide our web services including registration, website and meet sign ups.  This is a somewhat new service, however it has received great reviews from the teams that have been using the service.  We are hopeful you will find the new site much easier to navigate.  We hope to be live by mid July.

Patch Sew-on

Lisa Indest will have her fantastic sewing machine at practice again this Tuesday from 5:30-7 pm.  Please bring your silver bags and patches to have your team patches sewn onto your bags.  Please have your bags nearly empty as it makes it easier to sew.

ANYONE that can help sew & has a sewing machine is invited to come help this Tuesday.

Practice Attendance

We have had a couple parents ask when the coaches would like to see the kids this summer.  Long Course practice is a rare opportunity that should not be missed for our 8 and overs.  Hopefully this chart below will help your week.  We have MANY practice opportunities available and a VERY shot summer training season.  Please take  advantage of these while they are here!

Senior  - all morning practices, most evenings (please communicate with Lew)
Scarlet 2 - 7 of 9 practices, this should be 4-5 mornings and 2-3 afternoons
Scarlet 1 - 2-5 morning practices and 1-2 afternoons practices. 5 of 8 practices total.
Silver 2 - 2-3 morning practices and 1-2 afternoon practices. 3 to5 of 8 total.
Silver 1 - 1-3 morning practices and 2-3 afternoon practices.  3 to 5 of 8 total.
Buckeye 1/Too  - 2 afternoon practices.

If you are not participating on a summer league team, you will need to participate in more practices with Buckeye.

Parent Meeting - New Seniors

We will have a meeting for parents of new Senior swimmers (Scarlet 2's moving up now or in the fall) after practice this Thursday.  Scarlet 2 parents of swimmers that are practicing with Senior this summer are also welcome.

Indy Meet

We expect a meet schedule by Tuesday evening. As soon as it's available we will post to website on the meet information page.

Pancake Day

Pancake breakfast will resume on Thursdays this summer at morning practice. Thanks to the boosters for supporting this event.

Patch Sew On

Lisa Indest will have her sewing machine at practice this Tuesday, June 18 from 4-7. If you bring your silver bag and patches, she will sew them onto your bag.

Stroke Clinics

Stroke Clinics start today and will be held Mondays & Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 at Columbus North Sports Club.
This week we will be emphasizing streamlines, open turns, pull outs and breaststroke technique.

Practice Cancellation Policy

As a rule of thumb we will not cancel practice unless there is a safety issue that would keep us from putting your kids in the pool.  If we do need to cancel, we will text you.  As a reminder, our cold policy is that we consider keeping the kids out of the water when the air is under 55 and/or the water is under 75.  Fortunately, we have yet to have a serious safety issue arrive, but our less experienced swimmers have had to have shortened water time due to cooler temps. Today we swam 90 minutes with our 9-12's and 2 hours, 15 minutes with our 13 & overs before anyone got a shiver. The practices have been tough too!  Way to go to those that have been able to do this!!  We are very  proud to be coaching a group of swimmers that look for challenges in all sorts of ways.

Summer Jam Apparel pre-order, due Tuesday 6/11

I just found this on the meet page - if you want to pre-order anything it is due tomorrow.

Got a Sewing Machine?

I am looking for some volunteers that have a sewing machine and the ability to sew patches.  I think it would be fantastic if we could have a day at practice in the next week or so where we sew everyone's patches on their backpacks while they swim.  Please let me know if you are able to help!!

The Power of a Kind Word

"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around."
-Leo Buscaglia
I'm in deep thought this morning as I was reminded a few times over the week-end, the power of a kind word.  For those that were at the meet and sent yours kids to the bullpen, the OSSC ladies that ran it did a wonderful job.  They had an easy going demeanor, never shouted at the kids and calmly got them through the crowds and to the blocks on time. I noticed.  While picking up my heat sheets Saturday night, I was greeted by the staffer at OSU that 'kicked' us out of the Mike Peppe for asking a question or two (although at the time she acknowledged our timely entry and polite demeanor throughout the entire in/out debacle).  As she greeted me, a choice few complaints about the meet raced through my head (the meet was an exhausting one to coach), but out of my mouth came the most important thing for me to relay - the one thing that could make a positive difference - praise and compliments for the bullpen ladies.  As I was walking away, she stopped me, called me back and asked that our team return to the Mike Peppe meet.  A great reminder to me that sometimes a genuine compliment can go a long way.

On to this morning.  I use my phone as my alarm clock.  So every morning, I wake up, roll over and stroll through my emails to start my day.  Probably not the healthiest way to start my day, but it does get me going.  I was pleasantly surprised to see in my inbox an email with the subject 'love our team.'  It was a wonderful email that encapsulated so much of what we try to teach the kids.  It is a reason why I am constantly urging all of you to attend practice as much as possible, get your kids to meets and leave your kids on deck with us.  I am going to share some of it (I have removed some to help keep this anonymous), as I just can't write or summarize it better myself:
Is our team perfect?  Are we the biggest, or the fastest, do we have the most wins?  Probably not, but what my children have gotten out of BKYS is far more important than any of that. The relationships that my children have been exposed to through swimming with BKYS are invaluable.
This year you started the buddies. I truly hope this continues because this is what being a part of a team is about. I watched a swimmer who scores points in every meet give one of her multiple heat ribbons to her buddy who otherwise never would have gotten one. I know my own children loved leaving treats and well wishes to their buddies.  Mine wears the cap she got from her buddy with pride. These relationships blossomed but never would have come about if they hadn't been planted.
I also wanted to point out some other things I witnessed this year that I believe are why we are the best.
Younger swimmers cheering at the end of the lane for a senior swimmer. This happened at the beginning of the season before high school season started but then I saw it again this weekend. You rarely see this with other teams and you always see this with our team when we are all at a meet together. (Our son) idolizes the "big boys". This weekend alone multiple parents sent me pictures of him with their sons "hanging" together between races.  I think this is because we have great families at BKYS but also because we have coaches who encourage these kinds of relationships.

(Our kids) have made steady improvements, as you pointed out during conferences, with their swimming. However, they have become better athletes, sportsmen/women and people because of BKYS.
Pretty cool, huh ? (Yes Lew, I said huh). This is so much of what we try to teach in & out of the pool at Buckeye.   It's what makes swimming so unique, and amazing. You just can't get this kind of interaction in 'team' sports where kids are only with their group of approximately 15 teammates of the same gender and age.

So as I reflect away, I am truly thankful to all of our parents that take the time to get their kids to & from practice and meets and entrust your children to us.  I will continue the buddy program (need to clean up those mail folders with our newest members for the summer) and I was especially pleased with the conferences.  I learned quite a bit from you about your swimmers and our families, and everyone was so positive at conferences.  You all had 15 minutes to complain away, but chose to take the time to give me constructive feedback and ideas to help us coach your children better.  Thank You!  We have started a new 'reward' (think outright bribery) program at practice with the Cup O' Plenty.  Watch for it, we are hopeful it will make it's way through most of the team this summer.  We will continue to look for positive ways to improve the program. Please continue to keep bringing your kids to practice & meets!

Shutterfly & Pinterest

We are using two picture sharing sites that you can follow and be a part of.  First is Shutterfly.  Here you can upload pictures from meets to share with the rest of the team.  This site is restricted to members only, so that we can safely and securely share our photos with each other. You can join via this link: http://bkhy.shutterfly.com/

This spring, we also started a Pinterest site under the name Buckeye Swimming. We try to post recipes, dry land training ideas, motivational pictures and meet pics there.  We'll usually have a board for each meet we attend.  Feel free to follow for some light info and entertainment from BKYS.  If you are interested in being able to pin to any of our boards to help contribute to our site, please let me know.  I can give pining rights to multiple people.

Summer Small Groups

Reminder: NO small groups this week.
This summer, we have replaced small groups with Stroke Clinics.  This is mostly semantics, but it is also so that we can include our Scarlet 1 swimmers in the small group opportunity.  Our stroke clinics will be staffed by a minimum of 3 coaches, which (we believe) will give us that all important 1 to 8 ratio.  We will have several teaching points that we want to include in the stroke clinics this summer.  Stroke Clinics are offered Monday & Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 at Columbus North.  Swimmers do not need to sign up for specific clinics and can attend as many as they like.  Many of our swimmers have summer team meets on Mondays OR Wednesdays and will only be able to attend one of these a week.

REGULAR SUMMER SCHEDULE BEGINS :)
Download the schedule here

All swimmers should wear or bring running shoes to all practices at Northland.

The patches are here!

Most of our original patch order arrived incorrect just a  few days after the banquet.  The new patches are finally here and will be distributed via the mail folders by the end of the week.

Summer Meet Saga

The summer meet strangeness continues.  We are back in the Mike Peppe meet. However, many of you were very excited to hear that we would return to the Wooster meet rather than attend OU on Sunday or Peppe that week-end.  Our kids that signed up for Peppe genuinely do need to attend that meet.  So this is our compromise to the entire team.  We will attend all of Peppe AND Friday & Saturday of Wooster.  The Wooster meet is now open on our entry sign up site.  As a reminder we do want all of our 8-14 year old swimmers attending 2-3 days of the Regional Championship meet July 12-14 in Bowling Green.
