Meat Pickup - Wednesday at 5:30 PM!

Thank you for your tremendous support of our Michael's Meat Fundraiser.  A reminder that meat pick-up will be at Columbus North on Wednesday (June 9) at 5:30 pm.  Any meat not picked up by 6:30 will be grilled and eaten by hungry swimmers right there and then!  We are kidding of course, but in all seriousness do not forget to pick up or arrange for the pick up of your orders! In all, we raised $2641 in support of our team!  Thank you, thank you!! Our top 3 fundraisers were: Noel Wu - 32 boxes Kalianne Kotheimer - 21 boxes Millie Evans  - 20 boxes 18 swimmers sold 10 or more boxes and earned a t-shirt! If you would like to volunteer to help unload the meat truck and distribute orders we could use 3-6 volunteers from 4:30-6.  Please slack Amanda Klein to let her know you can help.

Mandatory SafeSport Training for Parents and Athletes

Every two years USA Swimming requires each SafeSport designated club to refresh their policies and renew their education base. As one of the first 50 clubs in the country to hold the SafeSport designation, Buckeye is continuing to lead the way in creating multiple paths towards protecting our athletes in and out of the water.  We have completed every step to renew our designation except education.  It is now time for each parent  on our team and swimmers 12 and over   to take the SafeSport course.  In order to do so you must have an account at USA Swimming.   Parents:   please take the course while waiting at practice or meet warmups.  It's quick and very informative.   Swimmers: this is a great way to spend your drive time to the pool (if you aren't driving of course). You may find the courses here: https://learn.usaswimming.org/?_ga=2.187740008.1509141630.1622943692-1206834513.1608482483 Please complete the course by June 15 - thanks!

June 2 Health Mandates Lifted

With the June 2 change in mask mandates, we will have some changes in our safety precautions as follows (starts June 2): Masks will no longer be required to enter our swim practice facilities. Whenever social distancing cannot be maintained, masks will be worn. We will follow and comply with the rules set forth by any other facility that hosts us for practices and meets. All swimmers must maintain 3 feet social distancing whenever possible.  This includes during dryland, between swims, before and after practices. Swimmers will be expected to stage 3' apart before and after practices, once stage there will be no 'visiting' of each other. Conversations should be held quietly, if you can be heard outside of your 3-foot circle, you are too loud.  We do not provide seating at our facilities.  Parents are welcome to bring a chair and watch practice at Minerva Park.  We will continue to livestream practices at Columbus North.  Parents are not permitted to stay and watch practice a

Meet Updates

Thank you to everyone that has been able to quickly respond to meet invites.  We recognize that there have been some kinks to work out in Commit, but thankfully our meet hosts have been patient! Please make sure you login to Commit weekly to check for meet invites.  Also, review the calendar and your billing tab.  Please promptly pay any outstanding invoices.  Our current meet sign-up is for the June BG meet.  We anticipate Creekside and Championship sign-ups soon.  One nice aspect of Commit is that we can attach the meet pdf to the meet signup info.  So if you have a question about the specifics of the meet, you may reference those.  Just a reminder that the contact information included is for our team representative, coaches, and officials to utilize.  Parents should never contact a meet host with questions.  We will oftentimes announce meet information and updates on the swim meet channel of Slack.  Please make sure you have joined there.
