Buckeye Swimming

The long awaited first day of practice is just around the corner!! Our first Scarlet Practice is Tuesday, September 6 at MC Fitness.  Coach Lew will be running Scarlet practice from 6:30-7:30 on this first day.  Coach Laurie is off on vacation to celebrate her 25th wedding anniversary with Rick. Our first Silver Columbus practice is Wednesday, Sept. 7 with Coach Lew. Silver MC starts their first practice on Thursday, Sept. 8 at MC Fitness with Coaches Jenn & Jessica. If you ordered anything at registration you will be able to pick those items up at practice on September 11. Next week Coach Jenn will have Weds Scarlet practice and Thursday Silver MC.  Lew will take the Thursday Scarlet practice.  Coach Jessica Ward will also start her first day with us at Thursday Silver practice!  Be sure to welcome Coach Jessica to the Buckeye family!!

Hi, We have received a few questions about how to set up monthly payments.  We are in the process of getting everyone's accounts set up on QuickBooks. We will use Intuit Merchant Services to process all electronic payments (credit cards, echecks, etc.).  Once we do that you will simply need to swing by the end of a practice to get started.  We will have specific days available to do that beginning the week of September 12.

The Apparel Committee has been working hard on getting some new team apparel items ready to be ordered.  We anticipate having samples and order forms available during the first week of practice.  We will be offering short sleeve t-shirts, baseball style t-shirt, towels, flannel pajama bottoms and leggings in our fall sale.  We also plan on having another sale before the holidays and adding some more winter options such as hooded sweatshirts, knit hats, blankets, etc.

The Booster Club will be holding a fall meeting on Tuesday, September 6 at 6:30 P.M. at MC Fitness.  Please plan on attending if you would like to learn more about the Booster Club or team activities.

We are continuing to add content to the new website.  This week we have updated the practice schedule into our google calendars & have started to build the meet information blocks on our meet schedule page.  Please continue to let us know if there is a part of the website that isn't working that you would like to have functional!  We are also still looking for parents and swimmers to send us testimonials or reviews to include on our website.  Short and sweet is fine, or long and detailed.  We'll take anything that you feel comfortable sharing!

All swimmers should take a moment to check the state of their gear bag.  The following items are needed in your bag at practice: Kickboard Fins Pullbuoy (if under 110 pounds, purchase a junior pullbuoy) Mesh Bag to carry it in Seniors and Juniors also need a snorkel and sculling paddles DO NOT BUY at local retailers.  Little known fact  the Speedo product sold at retailers like Target and Dicks is recreation quality and not really suitable for swim team. If you decide to buy team apparel while visiting swimoutlet.com, please make sure you purchase all team items in team colors.  The backpack must be silver/gray, team suit is red,  the team sweats are in red/black, etc.  No pink, neon green or other color team gear can have our logo or be utilized at swim meets

This year we do not plan to change our team suit.  This is a little risky as Speedo has not officially renewed it's style.  However, there are still suits available at swimoutlet.com/bkys in our team portal.  We also have a handful in stock that you can purchase right away.  Please take a moment to check the fit and condition of your current team suit.  Our goal is to make it to February in what you have.

Buckeye 200 pledges are continuing to come in, and thus far we have done a decent job raising funds.   Thus far we have raised $4,589.50!!  Not bad for a small team but slightly short of our goal of $150 per swimmer.  A huge congratulations goes to our top fundraiser, Sebby Martin!  Sebby has raised $832.50!!   The following swimmers have participated to date - thank you so much for your support of our program!! The schedule for Juniors includes an optional practice on Mondays. This is important for attendance calculations. It is recommended that Juniors attend the five practices offered Tuesdays Wednesdays,  Thursdays, Saturdays & Sundays.
