Amazon.com Fundraising

We’ve joined forces with Amazon for an easy fundraiser.  At the top of the BKYS team page and on our blog you will see an Amazon.com banner.  If you are planning to purchase from Amazon, all you need to do is click to them from our website and BKYS will receive a percentage rebate of your purchases.  The more that our members purchase by clicking from us, the greater the percentage of rebate. Your Amazon account information is secure and remains the same, you still get to use your Amazon Prime membership, and you still get any other rewards that you would normally receive from them.  Click from BKYS, log in as you normally would, and make your purchase.  That’s it.  If you’re a Kindle user, you will need to make your purchases by this method for us to receive credit (you can’t shop from your Kindle – sorry, Jim). Look for more information soon that lets you know what percentage of rebate specific items earn.  ALL items count toward the total rebate (including gift cards).

Virginia Team Trip Information

I was hoping to have a more detailed update for the Virginia trip, however we have run into a bit of a delay in getting an accurate bus quote.  It looks like the trip will be between $200-250 per swimmer under the following circumstances: Depart Columbus at approx 8 am Thursday Return to Columbus by midnight Sunday (we are checking on the feasibility of traveling home overnight and arriving early Monday am). Staying at either the Hilton Garden in or the Omni Newport News, both are smoke free hotels. The cost estimate includes breakfast, but does not include lunch and dinner. At this point planning is getting a bit difficult without an accurate idea of who will attend the meet. We discussed this meet a long time ago when we decided to eliminate the team travel trip during school months.  However, not much has been said about it since.  The meet is an excellent opportunity for our swimmers to compete in a very exciting format and see competition from outside our state.  The venu

Community Pool Meeting

Buckeye will be present at a  meeting on Tuesday, May 22 at 7:00 pm in the Olentangy Orange HS auditorium. This will be an informational meeting for the Olentangy School District & Buckeye swimming community.  The meeting will focus on three aspects: (1) Educate and inform those outside of Buckeye what is going on with  the project, (2) recruit additional investment into the pool and (3) discuss forming a booster board comprised of parties interested in renting the pool long term (annually).  Currently (in addition to Buckeye) we have interest from a local synchro group and the Olentangy school teams.

Scarlet Schedule Change for This Week

Tuesday & Thursday (May 15 &17) Scarlet 1 & 2 will swim from 5-7 due to a scheduling issue with our coaching staff.  If you cannot get there by 5:00, please contact coach Laurie - please include in that email the earliest time you can get to the pool.  Seniors start at 4:00 with dry land that week and finish at 7 pm as well - please consider carpooling with a senior swimmer - scarlets are welcome to join the seniors for dry land.

Summer Practice Schedule

Here is our tentative schedule for silver, scarlet and senior. We ate able to rent the entire pool area at Columbus north from 3-5 and rent late morning times at Northlands 50 meter pool. Structuring everything around these times has caused us to have few after 5 pm times. I would like to hear from you soon if this creates a scheduling problem that can't be worked out through carpools. Enroll in Kroger Rewards

As far as I know we are the only group that puts 100% of your Kroger Community Rewards into your account.  Most PTO's keep a percent for their organization.  April is re-enroll month - we usually do very well in the summer months as many schools do not push re-enrollment until the fall.  This gives us a bigger piece of the pie for Kroger to send our way. Kroger rewards are simple to use - you just scan your linked Kroger card at checkout.  We receive quarterly statements of your rewards that we put straight into your meet or travel fund. You can easily enroll at  http://www.kroger.com/Pages/Default016.aspx  - simply sign in and go to your account page.  Click on Community rewards and make sure Buckeye Swim Club is linked to your account. If you have never done this here are the detailed instructions: Register online at  www.krogercommunityrewards.com   and select Buckeye Swim Club when you enroll.
